Players Abilities Empty Players Abilities

Players abilities... should they be completely hidden, even to user, or not?

I mean, in real life managers can only see how a player perfoms.

Basically, what I'm saying is, is that managers can base how good a player is on match ratings.. If a player is constantly getting 8/10 or something then you know you got yourself a little gem. If you were a lower league manager, then this could be a real coup too.. just imagine selling him to a top team as they see he is performing well for them. But then, he turns out to be pants... the new club would be looking to sell...

Anyone understand and if they like, elaborate more on this idea as I feel I haven't explained properly, and that it can be better if thought out more....

I take it you mean like a fog of war?

I dont think ive come across that in a internet game, suppose its something you could try in a closed beta game to test out.
As i think if we look across the board on these types of games being able to automaticly see the main skills is a given, but as i say maybe a closed beta test season to get peoples reactions to it.

thats what fm call it, right?

maybe.. just I think not seeing ratings may mean you have to think about your tactics, players etc.

Should prove if your good manager or not..

Yh FM call it a fog of war but even on that your own player stats are visable

I have never used it (really should though)...

I think you shouldn't even be able to see your own players..

Or maybe it should be you should never see anyones except your own...

I know what you mean as your trying to get the realism into it, but you have to remember these are played at an accellarated pace so you may have 3 - 4 season in a real life year, so having to scout every team before you play them, and every player you might be interested in is, A time consuming, B, the need to have an almost endless amount of scouts, C, takes away the simplicity of the game.

As you've probably noticed, I've been going through the idea's forum. I do quite like this idea but also agree with Feralis, I think once FFML is up and running properly, we could try and play around with this idea a bit and see what we can create.

Im still sticking to being able to see the players VISABLE stats, yes I agree that you shouldnt be able to see the hidden and would have to scout those stats.
